BHCOE Announces Partnership with Global Autism Project to Offer an Autistic-Informed Behavior Technician Training Course

LOS ANGELES & BROOKLYN, N.Y.--()--The Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE), a leading organization dedicated to promoting and providing quality behavioral health services, is pleased to announce its partnership with Global Autism Project, an international nonprofit organization that supports individuals with autism through education and training. As part of this partnership, BHCOE will exclusively offer Global Autism Project's Behavior Technician (BT) training course.

Global Autism Project’s Behavior Technician (BT) Responsive Skills Training™ (RST) course is the first technician training that provides a culturally relevant approach to teaching and learning with the Autistic community; created by a global network of professionally diverse self-advocates, teachers, therapists, and allies. The purpose of this training is to give entry-level service providers a more well-rounded understanding of autism by hearing directly from those with a lived experience of autism. The course covers topics such as basic behavior principles, measurement, reinforcement, and data collection, among others.

"We are thrilled to partner with Global Autism Project to offer this valuable training course to our clients and partners," said Sara Litvak, CEO of BHCOE. "The BT training course aligns with our mission to provide quality behavioral health services to those in need with the influence of the self-advocate community, and we are confident that this course will empower individuals with the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve."

"We are excited to partner with BHCOE and make our BT training course more widely available to those who are seeking to make a difference in the field of behavior analysis," said Molly Ola Pinney, CEO and Founder of Global Autism Project. "This partnership is an important step towards our goal of increasing access to quality training and education for individuals with autism worldwide."

The BT RST training is designed to meet the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BACB) 40-hour training requirement for Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) certification, and is offered independent of the BACB. BHCOE is now accepting registrations for the BT RST course. To learn more about the course and register, please visit learning.bhcoe.org.
