MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PLANTA, the premier, plant-based hospitality group, brings its elevated plant-based dining experience to Los Angeles for the first time with the opening of PLANTA Cocina. Situated in the heart of Marina Del Rey with sprawling waterfront views, PLANTA Cocina is the first of three PLANTA restaurants slated to open in Los Angeles this year. With locations in Brentwood and West Hollywood to follow, this strategic West Coast expansion aims to cater to a wider audience of wellness enthusiasts and healthful hedonists seeking innovative yet approachable plant-based cuisine.
As their first PLANTA Cocina in the U.S., the location features a Latin-inspired menu, including Spicy Tuna Tacos, Croquetas, and Coconut Ceviche, as well as PLANTA staples, such as the Ahi Watermelon Nigiri and Bang Bang Broccoli. The 5,000 square feet space embodies the spirit of California through high ceilings, large windows and grand architectural details, including 11 arches that rhythmically lead diners towards the dining room. The space also features an outdoor patio and private dining room that is available now for booking.
“We are constantly working to raise the bar for plant-based hospitality and are committed to delighting guests with our thoughtful and adventurous dining experience,” said Steven Salm, PLANTA Founder and CEO. “This location is evolutionary for PLANTA, and we wanted to bring something fresh to the West Coast. Our Cocina adaptation is unabashed and flavorful, so we’re excited to join the mecca of wellness and level up what plant-powered food looks, tastes and feels like for Angelenos.”
Founded in 2016 by Co-Founders Steven Salm and Chef David Lee, PLANTA is on a mission to expand the accessibility and acceptability of plant based dining as well as prioritizes sustainability throughout every facet of the business – from its minimal waste menu to composting in every location. Since then, the company has rapidly expanded to 12 restaurant locations between Bethesda, Chicago, New York City, South Beach, Washington D.C., and Toronto. Later this year, the brand is set to open doors in Atlanta with two locations in Krog Street Market and Buckhead Village as well as a new addition to its New York City portfolio.
“While we have some classic categories and dishes, such as our sushi rolls and udon noodles, there are a handful of new, latin-inspired dishes to this concept,” said David Lee, Executive Chef and Co-Founder at PLANTA. “We also introduced a ‘Robata’ section to this menu, which is a Japanese fireside cooking method.”
PLANTA Cocina Marina Del Rey is open now and located on the waterfront at 4625 Admiralty Way Ste. 104. The restaurant is open seven days a week beginning at 4:00pm for dinner with lunch and brunch services beginning soon. Reservations can be made on Resy.com and for more information, please visit plantarestaruants.com or follow @planta on social media.
