(CarbonCapture), a U.S. climate tech company that develops direct air capture (DAC) systems based on a groundbreaking modular open systems architecture, today announced the appointment of automotive industry veteran David Apps to the newly created role of Vice President, Manufacturing. With an extensive background in developing multiple high-volume manufacturing facilities from the ground up, Apps will be responsible for establishing the first high-volume manufacturing facility for the company’s modular DAC systems.

Before joining CarbonCapture Inc., Apps served as the Vice President of Operations at Atlis Motor Vehicles, where he led a team of manufacturing and facilities engineers, as well as supply chain, validation, and quality personnel to establish their initial production facility. Prior to that, he was instrumental in developing state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and played a pivotal role in ensuring the capability of manufacturing volume growth. Apps’ professional experience also includes leadership positions at Nikola Motors Corporation, Byton Incorporated, Tesla Incorporated, Toyota, and DaimlerChrysler.
