NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. (“Cerberus”), a global leader in alternative investing, today announced that (Ret.) General John W. “Jay” Raymond has joined Cerberus as a Senior Managing Director on the Firm’s Supply Chain and Strategic Opportunities platform.
General Raymond joins a team of investment professionals, technologists, operating executives, and policy experts to pursue investments in areas that advance supply chain and security integrity for the United States and its partner nations. In this role, he will focus primarily on technology, aerospace, and defense modernization investments and provide strategic guidance to the broader platform and its portfolio of investments, including in the space domain.

General Raymond joins Cerberus after a distinguished career as a decorated military officer spanning 38 years of service in the United States Air Force and as a key architect of the United States Space Force. Most recently, General Raymond served as the first Chief of Space Operations of the United States Space Force, leading the military branch from its creation in 2019 until his retirement in 2022. As the highest-ranking officer in the Space Force, General Raymond held a seat on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and was responsible for organizing and overseeing the interests of the United States and allied nations in space.

His leadership and contributions have been recognized with numerous awards and decorations, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, and the Legion of Merit. General Raymond graduated from Clemson University in 1984 and later earned master’s degrees from the Naval War College and Central Michigan University.
