VISTA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--La Jolla Vein & Vascular held a ribbon cutting and open house this week to celebrate the newly opened Vein Clinic and Endovascular Center. The new space is located in the Sycamore Medical Plaza at 906 Sycamore Avenue in Vista, California. Members of the City Council, Vista Chamber of Commerce, physicians and hospital executives were on hand for the ceremonial ribbon cutting to open the new clinic. An open house and tours followed.
La Jolla Vein & Vascular specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disorders affecting the legs, feet and pelvis- such as, varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), leg ulcers, pelvic congestion, varicocele, lymphedema, and leg swelling. Peripheral vascular conditions range in severity from mild to more serious and even limb threatening. While, varicose veins can cause leg pain and swelling, leg ulcers and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) can result in amputation if left untreated.
“This new clinic was created to offer greater support for patients who need specialized vascular care,” said Dr. Nisha Bunke, Medical Director of La Jolla Vein & Vascular. “Our first office in La Jolla was established in 2010, where many of our patients drive long distances to receive care. This can be challenging, especially for our aging patients. We want to make our expertise and technology accessible to more people,” explains Dr. Bunke.
The new location will be staffed by Dr. Elliot DeYoung as the lead physician. Dr. DeYoung is a board-certified Interventional Radiologist. Dr. DeYoung’s expertise includes interventional treatments for conditions such as peripheral arterial disease, pelvic congestion, May-Thurner, deep vein thrombosis, varicocele, and uterine fibroids. He also specializes in a novel treatment for osteoarthritis, called geniculate artery embolization (GAE). GAE is a minimally invasive intra-arterial intervention that selectively embolizes the geniculate branches for treatment of chronic knee pain from osteoarthritis.
The new location will serve residents in Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, La Costa, Leucadia, Oceanside, Olivenhain, Rancho Santa Fe, Solana Beach, Escondido, Vista, San Marcos and Poway, as well as numerous unincorporated areas. The new clinic will benefit residents by improving access to vascular care in the out-patient setting which can reduce healthcare costs, wait times and save limbs.
