MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SafeLink Wireless, a participating Lifeline service provider, is now offering unlimited data for all participants who enroll in a SafeLink plan via the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program.
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) helps bridge the digital divide by ensuring more people can afford the critical broadband access they need for work, school, healthcare and more. While it is estimated more than 50 million U.S. households qualify for the benefit, only one-quarter of that population has enrolled thus far1.
Lifeline is a federally sponsored program providing discounted communication services to eligible individuals and families. Eligibility is determined by income and/or participation in state or Federal support programs.
Effective immediately through Lifeline and ACP, SafeLink subscribers are eligible to receive free minutes, texts and now unlimited data each month. All SafeLink subscribers also receive a smartphone (or a SIM card if they wish to use an existing compatible phone). To qualify for unlimited data on SafeLink customers must be enrolled in both the ACP and Lifeline programs.
“Today mobile devices and networks are what keep people connected not only to friends and family, but to the essential services and resources needed to live, work and thrive,” said Angie Klein, President of the Verizon Value organization, which offers SafeLink. “We’re here to help our customers take advantage of beneficial programs like the ACP and Lifeline and are proud to now include unlimited data with SafeLink along with the same quality service our customers enjoy across our portfolio of brands.”
Introduced in 2008, SafeLink is committed to continuing to keep wireless service affordable and accessible to all as technology evolves with no bills, no contracts, and no surprises.
