LAVAL, Quebec--()--BIOQuébec’s board of directors is proud to announce that Benoit Larose has been named its executive director, effective May 1, 2023.

“We are very pleased that Benoit is joining us as Executive Director. He is a very influential part of the life sciences community. His diverse professional experiences, coupled with his leadership, energy, and passion, will be greatly appreciated by BIOQuébec’s members and our partners,” says Frédéric Leduc, chairman of the board of directors. “BIOQuébec has been supporting its members for over thirty years, and I am confident that Benoit will be able to successfully open a new chapter in BIOQuébec’s history.”

Mr. Larose has over thirty-five years of experience in the life sciences sector. He has worked in R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of medical supplies and devices, diagnostic products, and pharmaceuticals and is a seasoned business development and corporate finance professional. Having worked for Canadian and international companies of all sizes, Mr. Larose has a wealth of experience and a comprehensive network within both the industry and Canada’s ecosystem. He holds an MBA from the HEC Montréal business school.

“I am pleased to have been given this opportunity to help strengthen not only BIOQuébec’s standing but also the life sciences sector in Quebec as a whole. This association plays an essential role. Thanks to my predecessors’ leadership and their team’s dedication, it is recognized as an industry leader. I want to thank the members of the board of directors for their trust. This is a logical continuation of my career in this sector; the pandemic showcased just how strategic it is for Quebec. I am excited at the thought of continuing to grow this industry in collaboration with all BIOQuébec’s members and partners,” adds Mr. Larose.

Mr. Larose has spent the last ten years overseeing the Quebec operations of Medtech Canada, the medical technology trade association. During his time there, he developed a great deal of expertise in public and government relations and comprehensive knowledge of the issues facing Quebec’s life sciences and health system. He has a proven track record of fully understanding companies’ situations and providing them with the support they need.

“BIOQuébec is proud to contribute to the development of Quebec’s life sciences industry, which is a dynamic sector that creates wealth, specialized jobs, and innovations aimed at improving everyone’s health and quality of life. I would also like to thank Emmanuelle Toussaint and Anie Perrault, who have served as Executive Director of BIOQuébec over the past few years and have done an outstanding job,” states Frédéric Leduc. “The Board of Directors will be working hard from the moment Benoit takes office to continue this work and meet our members’ expectations,” he adds.
