BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The global finals of the 21st "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students will be broadcast on CCTV-4 from April 17 to April 21, 2023. This year’s competition continues to create an online “cloud area”, using the Internet to break through the boundaries of time and space. 131 contestants from 111 countries started online competitions. After four stages of global preliminary rounds, lineup selection, team competition and championship, the global top 30 will compete in the final stage for the global championship of the 2022 "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students.
The competition will be hosted by Han Jia from the China Central Television (CCTV), and Zhao Yang, Professor and Dean of Foreign Chinese Language Education College of Peking University, serves as the judge. Professor Zhang Xiaolong from Chinese National Academy of Arts and senior teacher Wang Xiang from the Second High School attached to Beijing Normal University will participate in the competition as captains.
Language is a bridge that allows different cultures to meet. Civilizations are colorful because of exchanges and enriched by mutual learning. This year, the top 30 contestants from different countries on five continents spanned 17 different time zones, with a maximum time difference of 16 hours. The contestants overcame the difficulties of time difference and network to meet in the clouds from thousands of miles away.
