University of Phoenix Hosts Educational Equity Webinar on Organizational Strategies for Accessibility

Webinar highlights ways to integrate accessibility into processes and promote inclusion and belonging

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--University of Phoenix is holding its monthly webinar in the Educational Equity Webinar Series, titled “Inclusive Leadership: Prioritizing Accessible Environments,” on April 20, 2023, at 11:00am AZT. The event is part of a public series intended for educators, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) practitioners, higher education leaders and administrators, employers, nonprofit organizations, government affiliates, and University of Phoenix faculty, staff, students, and alumni across the globe.

“University of Phoenix is constantly working to stay on the cutting edge of digital accessibility for students and online visitors,” states Kelly Hermann, vice president of Accessibility, Equity and Inclusion. “We are proud to offer this opportunity for a frank and informative discussion about how accessibility can be an integral part of organizational processes.”

Despite being a crucial component of diversity, equity, and inclusion, accessibility is frequently overlooked when establishing organizational strategies. The panel of industry experts will discuss ways to integrate accessibility into organizational processes and promote inclusion and belonging at all levels.

The session will be moderated by Hermann, and will feature the following panelists:

  • Sambhavi Chandrashekar, Ph.D., Global Accessibility Lead at D2L Corporation
  • Janet Fukuda, Manager, Accessibility & Usability, University of Phoenix
  • Dominique Cytryn, Autistic Neurodiversity Evangelist and Benefits Analyst, Serco

The discussion will be hosted by Tondra Richardson, MBA, director of Student Diversity & Inclusion, and Saray Lopez, MBA, director, Student Diversity & Inclusion, both with the Office of Educational Equity (OEE) at University of Phoenix.

The Educational Equity Webinar Series is part of a series of events with which the OEE engages aiming to foster cultural awareness, thought leadership and community alliances to promote and sustain educational equity and diversity initiatives. The OEE supports students and faculty year-round with programs like the Inclusive Leadership Summit and an internal offering for staff and faculty, The Inclusive Café.
