TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NEXON Co., Ltd. (Nexon) (3659.TO), a global leader in Virtual Worlds, today announced that Junghun Lee and Mitchell (Mitch) Lasky were elected as directors of its board at the annual general meeting of shareholders held on March 24.
In addition, three directors were reappointed to the board: Owen Mahoney, Shiro Uemura, and Patrick Söderlund. Additionally, three members of the Audit and Supervisory Committee – Alexander Iosilevich, Satoshi Honda and Shiro Kunia – will serve the second year of their terms.
Junghun Lee is a deeply experienced leader in the global game industry. Immediately after graduating in 2003, he joined NEXON Corporation (now NEXON Korea Corporation) and rapidly transitioned through a series of executive roles with Nexon’s divisions. This included leadership in Nexon Live Operations – a capability credited with growing games over long periods of time. In 2018, he was appointed to his current role as Chief Executive Officer of NEXON Korea Corporation. Mr. Lee is respected for developing strong cultures within development teams and for his ability to recognize and mentor talented creative leaders.
Mitch Lasky has distinguished himself as a thinker, investor, executive and creative leader over a 30-year career in the games and mobile internet businesses. He currently serves as a Partner in the Silicon Valley firm, Benchmark Capital, and serves on the boards of Discord, Thatgamecompany, and Manticore Games. He was an early investor in Riot Games and Snap, Inc. Previously, Mr. Lasky served in senior executive roles in the games industry, including head of worldwide studios at Activision, CEO of JAMDAT Mobile, and executive vice-president of mobile and online gaming at Electronic Arts, before joining Benchmark in 2007.
