LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HydraForce, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic valves and manifolds, has launched its Innercept™ Digital Proportional Control with Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT), which offers plug-and-play simplicity with servovalve accuracy.
“Innercept combines the flexibility of a five-way proportional hydraulic cartridge valve with the precision of electronic control and the convenience of integrated feedback, thanks to the LVDT transducer,” explained Travis Schmidt, Global Engineering Solutions & Electronics Engineering Manager, HydraForce. “This systems approach represents an entry into the motion control arena of hydraulics.
The name ‘Innercept’ was chosen to convey the benefit of integrating electronics and LVDT technology with our proportional valve for better feedback and control of hydraulic motion.”
Innercept is a highly compact, proportional cartridge valve with an integrated electronic valve driver and LVDT that delivers exceptional linearity and repeatability. The custom-built LVDT has been adapted for application with cartridge valve technology. When attached to a solenoid-operated proportional valve, it improves the accuracy, repeatability and response of the proportional valve.
“Innercept combines servo valve accuracy and repeatability with cartridge flexibility and compactness at a fraction of the cost of industrial-style servovalves,” said Schmidt. “It provides quick machine integration and flexibility for implementing high-accuracy digital proportional operation on today’s mobile machinery. Innercept can be easily adapted for a variety of applications where precision and response are key.”
The new digital proportional control integrates an LVDT position sensor with a coil-mounted valve driver that provides closed-loop control. The integrated LVDT gives spool position accuracy to within 0.11 mm (0.005 in). Onboard electronics process this into a 0 to 5 V signal that forms the feedback leg of a full-featured PID control in the ESDR.
