Celebrated Leader at Elara Caring Receives Award for Significant Contributions to Home Health Space

Kimberly Nystrom has been inducted into the Hall of Honor in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Awards.

DALLAS--()--Elara Caring, the full-scale, multi-state home healthcare provider of clinical and personalized services across the patient/client continuum, has announced that Kimberly Nystrom, President of the organization’s Skilled Home Health service line, has been inducted into the Hall of Honor in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards.

For the past five years, the McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards program has recognized leaders who have made a significant impact in the skilled nursing, senior living and home care space, with all honorees judged and selected by an external panel of industry experts. The program is conducted jointly by McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care.

“As a people-centric organization, Elara takes enormous pride in the quality and contributions of the individuals who advance our mission of expanding access to the very best, value-based home healthcare,” said Scott Powers, CEO of Elara Caring. “That mindset only adds to our thrill in seeing Kim recognized with this well-deserved honor. We are deeply grateful for all her contributions and offer her our enthusiastic congratulations.”

Since 2018, Ms. Nystrom has served as an instrumental leader in Elara’s mission-driven growth. She started as President of Behavioral Health, where she designed a specialized service line dedicated to helping individuals with chronic behavioral health conditions. In 2020, she assumed the additional role of President of Elara’s Skilled Home Care service line, maintaining a dual leadership role before helping find a successor for Behavioral Health. She now remains as Elara’s President of Skilled Home Health, to which she brings unwavering dedication, expertise and sense of care and community. Under her leadership, both divisions improved in operational and financial performance while continuing to retain and attract caregivers.

In addition, hard numbers underscore the quality of Ms. Nystrom’s leadership. She has led patient-focused efforts that have, to date, culminated in 80% of the branches in the Skilled Home Health service line receiving at least 4 stars out of 5 in patient rankings. She also helped Elara earn the industry’s highest net promoter score (89) among patients with post-acute care experiences, indicating a level of customer appreciation and loyalty unheard of in the home health arena.

“Home health is not just my profession but my calling, driven by the growing need for expanded, high-quality, value-based care offerings,” said Ms. Nystrom. “I’m grateful to Elara for providing both me and my incredible colleagues the opportunity to make a difference in this critical space, in which we’re able to meaningfully contribute to the health and wellbeing of otherwise vulnerable people.”

McKnight’s Women of Distinction award winners will be honored at an in-person celebration on May 22nd in Chicago. A full list of inductees is available at www.mcknightswomenofdistinction.com.
