Popular summit sessions will include “Eat the Sharks,” where VC’s pitch the startups; “Demo Theater,” an opportunity to see the tech of the future in action; and “Top Ten Tech Trends,” a look at what will be hot, disruptive, and actionable in the coming year.
FoodTech companies developing alternative proteins will have samples to taste, and mobility startups like AirEV (a personal electric VTOL plane) will have models to touch.
The Summit this year is marked by the presence of major delegations and pavilions from the Middle East and North Africa.
A special press conference will be held on Summit Day, February 15, at 8:00 with OurCrowd CEO Jon Medved, OurCrowd Arabia Chairman Dr. Sabah al-Binali, alongside other partners from the Gulf to discuss how the Abraham Accords are creating a new dawn of cooperation in the region.
“This is the first OurCrowd Summit since the signing of the Abraham Accords and the establishment of OurCrowd Arabia. I am looking forward to introducing the opportunities for business between Israel and the MENA region,” said al-Binali.
“As a global platform proudly based in Israel, we have seen the Middle East business landscape transformed by the Abraham Accords,” Medved said. “OurCrowd has been among the Israeli business leaders spearheading relations with our neighbors and was the first Israeli VC licensed to operate in the UAE. We will celebrate this new climate of cooperation at the Summit as we welcome guests from across the Middle East and North Africa.”
A session exploring “What's Next for the Middle East: Insights from Leaders of a Regional Power” will also take place at the Mid-Day Plenary.
“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary and reaching this major milestone of $2.1B of investment commitments, we see that in the three years since the last OurCrowd Summit, the world has changed, presenting major challenges that need the solutions that only technology can provide,” said Medved. “Our companies are helping to solve problems in health equity, food and agriculture, cybersecurity, clean energy and alternative proteins, all of which have been exacerbated by the Covid pandemic, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the subsequent global energy crisis, and severe climate challenges.”
The Summit will host more than 200 CEOs and senior executives from OurCrowd’s extensive portfolio, a number of them unicorns, including Daniel Schreiber, Co-founder and CEO of Lemonade; Dr. Gilly Regev, CEO and Co-founder of SaNOtize; Gil Perry, CEO and Co-founder of D-ID; Gregory Keller, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of JumpCloud, and many more.
