Desert Financial Credit Union Gives Back $16M to Members in Annual Bonus

Arizona’s largest credit union awarded $70M to its members in the past six years

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Desert Financial Credit Union, a not-for-profit cooperative on a mission to share success with the Arizona communities it serves, announces a $16 million annual bonus for its members. This year’s Giveback Bonus is the largest to date, and it brings the total distributed bonuses to $70 million over the past six years.

“We pride ourselves on giving back in many ways, including directly to our members through the Member Giveback Bonus,” said Desert Financial President and CEO Jeff Meshey. “We believe that our financial success as a credit union should be shared with the member owners who did the most to help create that success.”

Desert Financial and its employees gave back in several ways in 2022, including through volunteering, working with local non-profits and through holiday food drives. A few examples include:

  • Employees volunteered a record-breaking 15,000 hours
  • $4M given to the community through corporate, foundation, and employee giving, impacting 115 non-profit organizations and 685 scholarship recipients
  • $125,000 given to three food banks through the Random Acts of Kindness program across Arizona for their holiday turkey drives.
