SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Kleinfelder Group, Inc. (Kleinfelder), a leading engineering, design, construction management, construction materials inspection and testing, and environmental professional services firm, announced today that Erik Soderquist has joined the organization as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this role, Soderquist will oversee all financial activities across the organization, as well as perform integral leadership engagements for the organization’s corporate services, risk mitigation, and real estate departments.
Soderquist will replace John Murphy, who after six successful years as Kleinfelder’s CFO, has been appointed as Kleinfelder’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, Murphy will maintain focus on key areas of the business such as mergers and acquisitive (M&A) activities and operations, as well as provide financial guidance. Murphy will continue to serve on Kleinfelder’s Board of Directors.

Soderquist has held multiple executive and other high-ranking positions throughout his more than 30 years of experience. Before joining Kleinfelder, Soderquist most recently served as CEO of Tepa, LLC (Tepa). Prior to CEO of Tepa, he served as CFO of Tepa, as well as integral positions at URS Corporation (now AECOM) including VP Americas Operations Controller, Director of Americas Operational IT, and VP Group Controller.

Soderquist holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from San Diego State University. He will be based in Kleinfelder’s Denver, Colorado office.
