MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Graceland will celebrate the holidays this year with a season of Christmas tours, festive concerts, Guest House hotel Christmas packages, and more. Christmas at Graceland officially beings November 17 and runs through Elvis’ Birthday on January 8.
Graceland will kick off the holiday season with an American holiday tradition as the Christmas lights come alive again during the annual Holiday Lighting Weekend on November 17-19.
The weekend begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 17 at the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony where we “flip the switch” on Elvis' holiday lights and decorations to light up Graceland for the season. The extensive Christmas display at Graceland includes hundreds of blue lights lining the driveway, a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and his sleigh, and much more, all initially displayed by Elvis and the Presley family. A special guest appearance at the ceremony to be announced soon and there is a 100% chance of snow. Santa will be available for photos following the ceremony at the Graceland Ticket Office. This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
As part of Holiday Lighting Weekend, guests can also enjoy two festive concerts at the Graceland Soundstage.
- Elvis Christmas Peace on Friday, November 18, will celebrate the soul of Memphis holiday-style with a concert themed after Elvis' 2003 album entitled "Christmas Peace," which features some of his most beloved Christmas and gospel music. Hosted by singer, songwriter and guitarist John Paul Keith, guest performers for the evening include Katrina Anderson, Nicole Atkins, Peedy Chavez, Jesse Kramer, John Nemeth, and TN Mass Choir. Elvis' Christmas Peace will infuse classic Christmas and gospel music with Memphis soul for a unique musical holiday celebration.
- Dean Z’s Rockin’ Christmas Show closes out the weekend on Saturday, November 19, and features Dean Z singing favorite holiday hits alongside his high-energy 10-piece band and the beautiful Dynamite Singers. The best rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly, and swing Christmas classics are guaranteed to rock the audience into the holiday spirit spanning Christmas standards made famous by Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, Dean Martin, The Ronettes and more.
