Virtis Health Unveils Infusion Centers in Birmingham and Mobile, Alabama

Clinical Expertise and Advanced Therapies’ Offering Caters to Growing Patient Population Statewide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. & MOBILE, Ala.--()--Virtis Health, an innovative, national provider dedicated to therapeutic and diagnostic services for patients with complex conditions requiring specialty infusible and injectable medications, announced today the unveiling of two Ambulatory Infusion Centers (AIC) in Alabama: one in Birmingham and one in Mobile. Virtis Health is a division of Soleo Health, a national provider of complex specialty pharmacy services administered in the home or at alternate sites of care. Together, the combined service offering of both Virtis Health and Soleo Health provides patients flexible site of care options to meet their individual therapy needs and service expectations in a cost-effective setting.

Both Virtis Health Birmingham and Virtis Health Mobile offer a range of therapy management services and treatments for patients with autoimmune disorders, including chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, multiple sclerosis and myasthenia gravis. Virtis Health AICs also provide treatments for and manage patients with various inflammatory conditions, such as thyroid eye disease, Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, as well as primary immunodeficiencies and rare and ultra-rare diseases. Virtis Health Birmingham named Jeffrey Burkett, MPH, FNP-C, CRNP, nurse practitioner, overseeing day-to-day operations and supervising the clinical practice. As a board-certified family nurse practitioner, he brings more than 11 years of healthcare experience, from public health to clinical nursing in urgent care and family practice, to his new role. Additionally, Burkett is a past recipient of the Hellen Davis Memorial Award for nursing excellence at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He also is a member of the Central Alabama Nurse Practitioner Association. Burkett earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of South Alabama.

Virtis Health Mobile appointed Rachael Rutledge, MS, ACNP-C, nurse practitioner, to oversee day-to-operations and supervise the clinical practice. Rutledge is a board-certified nurse practitioner with more than 18 years of healthcare-related experience, ranging from serving in the ICU to working as a surgical nurse practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and is a member of the Bay Area Nurse Practitioner Association.

In their respective positions, Burkett and Rutledge manage all patient needs for Virtis Health, including administering intravenous and injectable medications and monitoring patients’ status during and post-treatment at their respective AICs. Clinical pharmacists are also available to support both AICs, as necessary.
