Black Bear Diner Accelerates Texas Expansion with First Location in Dallas

Company continues aggressive growth in the Lone Star State with five additional Texas openings coming soon in Mesquite, San Antonio, Amarillo, El Paso and Harker Heights

REDDING, Calif.--()--Black Bear Diner, the one-of-a-kind, bear-themed dining concept offering a family-friendly atmosphere and classic, home-style comfort food, today has announced its entrance into the Dallas market with the opening of its newest diner in Mesquite. Located at 3730 Towne Crossing Blvd, the opening is the company’s first of five impending Texas openings, and marks the brand’s 12th location in the state, following its recent openings in both McAllen and Pasadena.

“Our entrance into Dallas is a large milestone for our company as we continue our statewide expansion in Texas. We are proud to introduce Black Bear Diner to the Dallas community, and are eager to grow our presence in Texas,” said Anita Adams, CEO of Black Bear Diner. “The Mesquite diner is our latest converted building location, and a great representation of our versatile approach to opening new diners through both ground-up and conversion strategies. To date we have converted 14 different building layouts to a Black Bear Diner, illustrating our unique ability to provide a strong ROI in a multitude of real estate locations.”

The new Mesquite diner is open daily from 6am-10pm and is the fourth Black Bear Diner location to incorporate new design features that accommodate the brand’s growing off-premise business, which includes a vestibule with separate pick-up window for takeout orders and third-party drivers.

Black Bear Diner’s strategic expansion into Texas is supported by an impressive pipeline of upcoming diner openings, including new corporate-owned locations set to open this October in San Antonio on Military Drive and this December in Harker Heights. In conjunction with its franchise partner, the company also plans to open diners soon in Amarillo and El Paso.

Beyond Texas, Black Bear Diner plans to open one location in California, and one restaurant in Utah before the end of 2022. All new locations will be a combination of conversions and ground up builds that will incorporate recent design enhancements to better accommodate off-premise dining.

With these openings, the company plans to finish 2022 with 11 new diners opened. In 2023, the company expects to open approximately 16 diners, including at least 8 in Texas.
