Nurse.com Acquires HOLLIBLU, Launches App for Nursing Community

Exclusive social networking app built by nurses, for nurses, to foster peer support, networking, career advancement, and continuing education

MORRISVILLE, N.C.--()--Nurse.com, an industry-leading online education company providing lifelong career support to nurses, today announced its acquisition of HOLLIBLU, a social networking app designed exclusively for nurses, and a joint effort to form the largest online community dedicated to empowering and connecting nurses. The Nurse.com app enables nurses to connect with each other for peer support, knowledge sharing, and skill development with the aim of helping every nurse thrive throughout their career journey.

Nurses are encouraged to download the Nurse.com app to join the Nurse.com community where they can share experiences and engage with their peers. The app — which delivers the community and career resources nurses need to organize their professional lives — elevates their level of care and provides a platform for them to advocate for change within the industry they serve. It is initially launching in beta and over time will expand offerings to include the job resources and accredited continuing education courses nurses have come to expect through Nurse.com.

Our HOLLIBLU team is incredibly grateful to Nurse.com for believing in and supporting our mission to build a vibrant community where nurses thrive,” said Cara Lunsford, RN, Founder and CEO of HOLLIBLU and Vice President of Community at Nurse.com. “Nurses need peer support, resources, and industry allies so they can feel empowered to be change agents within healthcare. Nurse.com is perfectly positioned to provide the support that nurses are seeking during these challenging times, and I’m proud to say that they’ve truly stepped up to the plate.”

Though nurses are the backbone of the healthcare industry, they are facing a growing epidemic of burnout and staffing challenges, largely due to the physical, mental, and emotional challenges they experience daily. According to Nurse.com’s 2022 Nurse Salary Research Report, 29% of nurses across all licenses are considering leaving the profession — an 18% jump from 2020 — pointing to widespread dissatisfaction and burnout, and highlighting the opportunity for a supportive community to improve their overall experience. The Nurse.com app is designed to address this critical need.

With heightened awareness surrounding nurse burnout and its root causes, particularly nurses’ mental health, there’s a real opportunity to make a positive impact across the industry with our nurse-specific platform that encourages connection and community-building,” said Amy King, Chief Marketing Officer at Relias, which powers Nurse.com. “Through the new Nurse.com app we’re excited to bring nurses a vibrant community featuring nurse experts, live chats, and a forum for peer support.”

The Nurse.com app is already available. For more information, visit the app page.
