TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ether Capital Corporation (“Ether Capital” or the “Company”) (NEO: ETHC) wishes to update the market regarding a material change in the proposed transaction of its portfolio company, Wyre Inc. (“Wyre”).
Wyre, a cryptocurrency infrastructure provider based in San Francisco, entered into an agreement in April 2022 to be acquired by Bolt, an American checkout and shopper network company. Details on the initial proposed transaction can be found here.
The transaction was expected to close before the end of 2022, however both Wyre and Bolt have agreed to remain independent businesses. Instead, Wyre will enter into a commercial agreement with Bolt to implement Wyre’s one-click solution for the Bolt customer platform.
Ether Capital will continue to own a minority equity interest in Wyre and will assess the fair market value as part of its Q3 financial statements. Wyre is considered a non-core, portfolio investment by Ether Capital.
