Shinshu University Selects TOYO Corporation’s Portable Security Solution to Enable Secured DX for the Academic Network

TOKYO--()--TOYO Corporation (TOKYO:8151), the leading test and measurement company, today announced that Shinshu University has selected TOYO Corporation’s NetEyez Security for campus wide security monitoring and analysis of cyberattacks. NetEyez Security will provide Shinshu University better network visibility and security risk analysis that’s based on the latest threat intelligence. It will greatly enhance support for the university's initiatives in driving DX (Digital Transformation).

In June 2022, Shinshu University established the "Shinshu DX Promotion Consortium" to promote DX in cooperation with the public and private sectors. Under this initiative, Shinshu University strengthens network security for a reliable DX management. Shinshu University Security Incident Response Team (SUSIRT) monitors the network for early detection and prevention of cyberattacks.

To expedite the analysis of suspicious network points, SUSIRT has been searching for a security analysis solution with the latest threat intelligence information in a portable form factor for network packet collection and analysis. TOYO Corporation has developed NetEyez Security Portable which meet their requirements.

NetEyez Security is a security monitoring solution that mitigates and minimizes the impact of network security breaches that lead to costly downtime. It provides data collection and analysis, security risk analysis, network forensics, and online up-to-date threat intelligence in a portable and mobile form factor. It’s method of visualizing data aids teams in understanding security risks without the requirement of having advanced security knowledge.

“Shinshu University has five campuses, but SUSIRT has limited human resources and cost to drive our diverse network effectively with ensuring security. Therefore, we need a portable solution to monitor several points quickly when we find suspicious security risks. NetEyez Security Portable is the ideal solution with high analysis ability and the latest threat intelligence information.
We expect that this solution will detect and notify even very slight signs of anomaly with AI technology in the near future.” said Yasushi Fuwa, Shinshu University Trustee and Executive Vice President for Information Technology and Digital Transformation, Takumi Uchiyama, Associate Professor of Integrated Intelligence Center, Kazuya Nagai, Technical Staff of Technical Unit (Integrated Intelligence Center) and Yumiko Yoshida, Administrative Staff of Shinshu University Hospital Medical Informatics.
