Over the past five years, CoastEdge has grown its assets under management by six times. The new Principals are charged with helping to sustain that growth trajectory through bespoke investment management, operational innovation, and robust technology capabilities.
Kris Farren Moss:
Moss has worked in the investment management industry for more than 15 years. At CoastEdge Partners, she serves as Vice President of Investments and is a voting member of the Investment Committee. Moss is primarily responsible for researching and monitoring the many alternative investment managers utilized by CoastEdge Partners, including private equity, venture capital, private real assets, private credit, and distressed & special situations.
Moss, who started with CoastEdge in 2018, is a CFA charter holder and received her Bachelor of Arts and MBA from Stanford University.
Alex Ponchak:
As Chief Financial Officer, Ponchak brings deep experience in the alternative investment management industry, specializing in fund accounting, audit, and taxation functions. Prior to joining CoastEdge Partners, he served as Fund Controller at Soros Fund Management in New York, helping to oversee a $30 billion privately held multi-strategy hedge fund. Previously, he worked at RSM US LLP in their audit practice.
Ponchak previously held a CPA license in the state of New York and received both a Bachelor of Science (magna cum laude) and M.S. (summa cum laude) in Accounting from Fordham University.
Sam Bagheri:
As the Director of Operations for CoastEdge Partners, Bagheri is focused on strategic operational initiatives for the firm. Previously, he worked for PIMCO helping to lead operational strategy across 17 global offices. Bagheri also worked at ICONIQ Capital, an $80 billion private investment firm in San Francisco, where he specialized in operational diligence of venture capital investments and the family office. He began his career as a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton.
Bagheri is an active Fellow of the Aspen Institute and received Bachelor of Science degrees in both International Business and Strategic Communication from the University of San Diego.
Ian Hill:
As a Director on the Investment Team, Hill is a voting member of the Investment Committee and is responsible for overseeing the application of strategic and tactical investment activity across all discretionary investment portfolios. He also is involved in the researching and monitoring of the many alternative investment managers utilized by CoastEdge Partners. Prior to joining CoastEdge, Hill was an investment product specialist at Allianz Global Investors. He began his career with Meketa Investment Group in the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) team where he supported the management of $15 billion in assets on behalf of Foundations, Endowments, and Pension plans.
Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Sacramento State University.
