Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits Raises $30,000 for Children of Restaurant Employees through its Month of Kindness Program

MIAMI & DALLAS--()--Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer's)—the world’s preeminent distributor of beverage alcohol—today announced that it is donating a total of $30,000 to CORE (Children of Restaurant Employees), a national non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to food and beverage employees with children, through an employee-initiated Month of Kindness charity program. The Month of Kindness program was created by Southern Glazer’s employees to address the impact the pandemic has had on local communities by completing random “acts of kindness” to earn “ACT” points.

Southern Glazer’s Central Region and Atlantic Division participated in the 2022 Month of Kindness program in May, and incentivized employee participation with a $30,000 pledge to CORE if the campaign met its goal. Random ACTs of Kindness performed during the month ranged from donating blood, clothing, and pet supplies, to participating in professional development and networking opportunities. For each activity completed, an employee received ACT points. The goal of the program was for employees to collectively surpass 1.1 million ACT points to showcase their “acts of kindness.” By the end of the month, Southern Glazer’s team members exceeded this goal, reaching 2.3 million ACT points, resulting in the $30,000 donation to CORE.

“Through our Month of Kindness program, we were able to support CORE’s mission of providing grants to help food and beverage industry families bridge the financial gap during a qualifying crisis,” said Bailey Gins, Southern Glazer’s Talent Cultivation Manager and a founder of the Month of Kindness program. “There's a sense of purpose that I gained from spearheading this event because so many lives are positively impacted. Our employees were eager to support such a great organization that provides important resources for hospitality workers and their local communities.”
