LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the most innovative and successful builders and real estate enterprises in the country, announced that Vice President Karri Novak was recognized as a Los Angeles Business Journal Women’s Leadership Award nominee. Each year, the media outlet honors women of outstanding achievement in the local business community, and Ms. Novak was chosen as a nominee due to her dedication to making positive impacts in her local community.
“Karri’s work has immense influence in Los Angeles and the broader West Coast region, and we applaud her for this much-deserved nomination,” said Ken Summers, General Manager of Suffolk Los Angeles. “It’s a privilege to work alongside Karri and witness her industry impact firsthand on a daily basis.”
As part of the West Coast leadership team at Suffolk, Ms. Novak is leading the firm’s expansion into rapidly evolving sectors such as higher education and life sciences. Ms. Novak’s expertise in academia and student life in particular, combined with her three decades of construction industry experience, gives her a unique skillset to guide design-build teams through the planning, design, development and delivery of new campus projects – including California Polytechnic University, UC Los Angeles, UC San Diego, University of Southern California, among others. She has also secured multiple higher education projects in 2022 such as one with the University of California, San Francisco to support renovations to its Parnassus Heights.
In addition to being named a Los Angeles Business Journal Women’s Leadership Award nominee, Ms. Novak has been nominated or won multiple awards over the years, most recently for Globe St’s Women of Influence Awards and San Diego Business Journal’s 2022 Women of Influence in Construction.
