Executive produced by Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week premieres Thursday, July 28th at 11:30 P.M. ET/PT

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MTV Entertainment Studios today announced that season two of Charlamagne Tha God’s weekly late-night show will get a new name and new format with the same great host for a comedic look at the week’s events. Premiering Thursday, July 28th at 11:30 PM ET/PT, Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God will feature influential guests and Charlamagne’s hilarious and unfiltered take on the most talked about topics.

Executive produced by Stephen Colbert and Charlamagne, this season the half-hour weekly show will feature unlikely pairings of comedians, outspoken celebrities, and thought-leaders across the political spectrum to debate the current events permeating politics and culture with influential guests unpacking the stories blazing the headlines.

“Last year I shared ‘THA GOD’S HONEST TRUTH’ about politics, culture and social issues but this year, I’m thinking enough shows talking about problems; I want to discuss solutions,” said Lenard “Charlamagne” McKelvey. “Regardless of if the conversation is politics, entertainment, or just some random f**k sh** going on in the culture, ‘Hell of A Week’ will be a safe space for free speech & a safe space for comedy. Basically, if you don’t want to be ‘canceled,’ this isn’t the show for you.”

Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week will showcase a hilarious and off-the-cuff Charlamagne, bolstering the late-night talk show format that churns America’s news into digestible soundbites.

Lenard “Charlamagne” McKelvey, Stephen Colbert, Rachael Edwards (who also serves as Showrunner), Josh Lieb, Aaron McGruder, Karen Kinney, James Dixon and Norm Aladjem are executive producers with Lisa D. Goumelle as Executive in Charge of Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God.

Ari Pearce, Bola Fapohunda and Driadonna Roland are executive producers with Matthew Parillo as Executive in Charge for MTV Entertainment Studios. About Charlamagne Tha God:

Born and raised as Lenard (Larry) McKelvey in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Charlamagne started his journey to becoming a world-renowned media personality when he worked as a radio intern while attending night school. After various stints on air in South Carolina, he landed a life-changing opportunity to become second mic to legendary radio icon Wendy Williams. Then, in 2010, Charlamagne helped establish The Breakfast Club, the most successful hip-hop show in radio history, recently inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Universally recognized as the key driver behind the morning show, alongside co-hosts Angela Yee and DJ Envy, Charlamagne’s relentless effort to unveil truth by asking the uninhibited questions audiences most wanted to hear helped propel The Breakfast Club’s meteoric rise to success.

With a deeply personal vision to help address the unmet and underserved emotional needs of Black people worldwide, Charlamagne founded the Mental Wealth Alliance (MWA), which supports state-of-the-art mental health services to Black people in need while building a long-term system of generational support for Black communities.
