Virtual Mental Health Platform Sesh Hires Lauren Sumrell as Vice President of Clinical Operations

Healthcare Veteran Will Implement Systems and Processes to Scale Company's Growth and Maintain High Level of Quality Care

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Virtual mental health support company Sesh is pleased to announce that Lauren Sumrell, a 10-year healthcare industry veteran, has joined the company as vice president of clinical operations. In her new role, Sumrell will oversee clinical programming, network quality control and member service utilization and satisfaction.

Sesh is a mental health app and platform that provides virtual group mental health support that's accessible, affordable and supportive. Vetted, licensed therapists run sessions. Clients can choose their level of support, from one-time sessions to monthly subscriptions that allow unlimited sessions each month.

"Bringing Lauren on board will help ensure that we continue to scale while delivering quality group support for our members. Her experience and leadership will help take Sesh, our members and our therapists to new heights safely, swiftly and without compromise."

Sumrell is a champion of purposeful work that brings value and impact to humans. Her extensive experience in the healthcare sector includes working as a project manager at AllyAlign Health (a Medicare Advantage administrative start-up), where her team implemented new systems, processes and provider networks necessary to operate local health plans under federal regulations. In her most recent role as Teladoc's Health vice president, operation process improvement, she increased operating efficiencies, improved cost savings and recovered revenue. Sumrell's team at Teladoc Health generated cost savings of $10 million through waste reduction, efficiency gains and transformational initiatives that leveraged people, processes and technology.

Sumrell earned her master's degree in healthcare administration in 2021 while working full-time and raising two daughters – one of the proudest moments of her life.
