Govini Launches Certification Program to Enrich National Security Workforce

The first iteration of the program will highlight Decision Science skills to address supply chain risk management

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--Today, Govini, the leading Decision Science company solving supply chain risk challenges for national security agencies, announced the launch of the Govini Certification Program for Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM). This course is designed to enrich the knowledge and skills of the national security workforce grappling with supply chain risk and associated challenges. This program is an important part of Govini’s commitment to advance U.S. competitiveness amid the pacing threat posed by China, continued pressure from Russia, and strain from global exogenous threats and climate change.

“We are excited to offer this new certification program, with our first program focusing on supply chain risk management. Addressing the threats posed to critical supply chains of the United States and our allies and partners is a national imperative. We must arm the national security workforce with the training and education necessary to combat those threats,” said Tara Murphy Dougherty, CEO of Govini. “An overlooked but desperately important component of mitigating risk across all supply chain threats is understanding data at scale and being able to drive action from that data.”

SCRM professionals who attend Govini’s Certification Program will gain immediately applicable Decision Science skills that span:

  • Skills and techniques that support the implementation of SCRM statutory regulations
  • Evaluation of the Companies, Capabilities, and Capital that comprise a supply chain’s risk profile
  • Ability to produce relevant and actionable analytic output using course knowledge

“We designed this program as a unique addition to professional SCRM experience by focusing on the data environment, issues, pitfalls, and insights that must be understood from a decision science perspective. The lessons aid in the tactical implementation of SCRM requirements using curated data, at scale, to achieve tangible results,” said Olivia Clepper, Govini’s Vice President of Mission Implementation. “Participants taking this course do not need specialized programming skills or require data science expertise. We know people from all backgrounds and roles are tasked with SCRM responsibilities, all with a need to derive decision-quality analysis from scalable data.”

Due to high demand for SCRM knowledge and expertise, sessions have quickly filled throughout the summer. There is limited availability in late summer through the fall. More information can be found at the following webpage https://www.govini.com/govini-certification-program/.
