Pontera Announces Integration with SS&C’s Advent Custodial Data® Network to Help Advisors Manage Clients’ Retirement Assets

Technology integration unlocks the ability for SS&C Black Diamond users to securely trade and report on held away accounts, including 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and more.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pontera, the fintech company that enables financial advisors to trade and manage retirement assets in a secure and compliant manner, today announced an integration with SS&C’s Advent Custodial Data® network. The technology integration provides held away account data for firms using SS&C’s advisory solutions. Users can view, report, supervise, and bill on 401(k), 403(b), and other held away accounts managed on Pontera’s platform through SS&C’s Advent Custodial Data® Network, including the Black Diamond® Wealth Platform, Axys, Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX), and Geneva.

“401(k), 403(b), and other employer-sponsored retirement accounts are becoming the largest savings vehicles for more and more Americans,” said Dave Goldman, Pontera’s Chief Business Officer. “Consequently, the need for advice in these accounts is higher than ever.” In a survey, JP Morgan found that 62% of individuals wish they could completely hand over retirement planning to an expert.1 Because these assets are held off the financial advisor’s custody platform, or “held away,” monitoring them has been challenging historically, limiting the ability of financial advisors to give clients the help they need.

“Our relationship with SS&C solves this problem for advisors using their platforms. They are able to securely trade their clients’ held away accounts while seamlessly incorporating them into reporting, billing, and planning workflows like never before.”

“At SS&C, we are constantly surveying the landscape for technologies creating value for our firms and their clients,” said Eli George, V.P. Solutions Management, SS&C Advent. “Held away retirement accounts have been a pain point for wealth managers for decades. We’re pleased to have found a partner who can deliver a solution to our advisors.”

The integration with SS&C marks another successful technology partnership for Pontera, following several other announcements in the past 12 months.
