DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Intrinsic, LLC, a national valuation and transaction advisory firm headquartered in Denver, Colorado (“Intrinsic” or the “Company”), announced today the formal launch of a separate Transaction Opinions practice with the addition of Managing Director Garrett Wilson, joining from FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) (“FTI”), where he was a member of the firm’s Fairness and Solvency Opinion Committee.
Intrinsic has historically rendered fairness and solvency opinions for clients through its existing Financial Reporting Valuation practice. To service increasing demand for Transaction Opinions from its private equity and institutional investor clientele, the Company has re-organized its practice areas to expand its reach as a premier advisor on transaction-related matters. With the recent hiring of Mr. Wilson, Managing Director, and Mark Lorch, Director, both of whom have deep expertise in public company Transaction Opinions and related litigation experience, Intrinsic will now serve its clients as a trusted partner in four formal practice areas: Transaction Advisory Services, Transaction Opinions, Financial Reporting Valuation and Estate & Gift Tax Valuation. The now separate Transaction Opinions practice will be led by Mr. Wilson and, in addition to Mr. Lorch, will also involve other senior Intrinsic professionals with previous Transaction Opinions experience including Evan Lewis, Vice President.
“We are excited to announce the launch of a separate and focused Transaction Opinions practice. In line with our firm’s strategy of developing national leadership in transaction advisory and valuation services, this group will serve as a trusted partner to boards of directors and special committees as they meet fiduciary duties associated with M&A, related party transactions, fund-to-fund transfers, dividend recapitalizations and other transactions,” said Alex Hodgkin, Intrinsic’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are answering the call from our private equity, institutional investor and publicly traded clients for independent and defensible fairness and solvency opinions. The demand for these services has meaningfully increased and with the addition of Garrett and Mark our subject matter expertise is significantly expanded, given their extensive knowledge and experience rendering or litigating opinions on large corporate transactions.”
Mr. Wilson joins Intrinsic from FTI where he was a Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Fairness and Solvency Opinion Committee. He began his career near Seattle, Washington, working as an analyst for the Chief Investment Officer of Cascade Investment, LLC (“Cascade”), the family office of William H. In 2012, Mr. Wilson joined the Denver office of RGL Forensics, a leading global financial investigations firm, and later RGL Advisors, a FINRA registered broker-dealer (collectively, “RGL”), which were subsequently acquired by Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP. While with RGL, Mr. Wilson focused on financial forensics, litigation consulting and middle-market advisory services for clients in a broad array of industries and served as a member of the firm’s Valuation and Opinions Committee. Mr. Wilson joined the Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment of FTI, a multi-billion-dollar global business advisory firm, in 2017. At FTI, he focused on disputes-related valuations and complex commercial damage engagements as a consultant/expert witness while also serving on the firm’s Fairness & Solvency Opinion Committee. Mr. Wilson has a double-dual B.A. degree in economics/accounting and biology/chemistry from Claremont McKenna College, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a CFA Charterholder and a Certified Valuation Analyst.

While continuing to serve existing clients in the Financial Reporting Valuation practice, he will support Mr. Wilson with new business development and execution of Transaction Opinion engagements.
