HAIKOU, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With the theme of "The World in COVID-19 and Beyond: Working Together for Global Development and Shared Future", the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2022 is scheduled from April 20 to 22. A breakdown session of BFA, the Religious Leaders’ Dialogue - eagerly awaited by hundreds of millions of religious believers worldwide - will open at 10 am on April 22.
Due to the pandemic, the speakers of the dialogue will attend the event physically or virtually, including: Imam Yang Faming, President of The Islamic Association of China; Venerable Master Yin Shun, Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China and President of the Buddhist Association of Hainan province; Professor Chen Lai, President of China Society for Philosophy History and Dean of Tsinghua Academy of Chinese Learning; Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the World Council of Muslim Communities and First Chairman of the International Steering Board of Hedayah, the International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism; Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League; Most Rev. Archbishop Kim Hee-joong, Co-President of Korean Conference of Religions for Peace (KCRP),President of the Committee for Promoting Christian Unity & Interreligious Dialogue, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea, Catholic Church; Luigi De Salvia, Co-President of Religions for Peace Europe and President of Religions for Peace Italy.
The dialogue, featuring physical and virtual participation of the seven heavyweight speakers, will revolve around the theme of "Moon Over the Rivers, Beauty and Harmony - Civilizations Flourish through Communication & Convergence." Conversations will be carried out among diverse religions and civilizations on mutual learning and harmonious co-existence in order to contribute religious and cultural wisdom to the joint endeavors of COVID control, global peace and building a community of a shared future for humanity, and to showcase the great love and responsibility of religious groups.
Hosted by China Religious Culture Communication Association and China Committee on Religion and Peace, organized by Hainan Religious Affairs Bureau and Hainan Buddhist Association, and assisted by the China Islamic Association, this year's Religious Leaders’ Dialogue is 7th edition at the BFA since 2015.
