Duo Health Adds to Clinical Leadership to Support Unique Model for Serving Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease

WASHINGTON--()--Duo Health, a new type of medical group for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end stage kidney disease (ESKD) announces the appointment of Richard Barager, MD, FACP as Chief Medical Officer and Anthony Perry, MD as Chief Clinical Officer. Barager is a distinguished nephrologist with more than 35 years of practice and deep experience as a physician, medical practice owner, and NACD-certified Board Director. Perry is a physician-leader with foundation in geriatric medical services and demonstrated success in experiences ranging from hospital operations leadership to integrated physician practice leadership. The experienced and complementary clinical leadership exemplifies Duo’s mission to pioneer true value-based care in the CKD space.

Prior to joining Duo Health, Dr. Barager was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in Southern California. Additionally, he was Co-Founder of North Coast Kidney Consultants and served as Medical Director at North Coast Kidney Center, leading this multi-award-winning dialysis clinic for 30 years, regularly ranking among the top clinicians nationwide for quality.

Before joining Duo Health, Dr. Perry spent his career at Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), an academic medical center with strong commitment to mission and recent achievements that include being ranked #1 nationally in quality and accountability by Vizient. He served as Vice President for the RUMC Ambulatory Transformation Center where he led in the delivery of new facilities and delivery of digital innovations to the care environment. Perry also served as Division Chief, Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care, and as Vice President, Population Health where he served as RUMC lead for the partnership that created the Medical Home Network ACO to provide care for over 150,000 Medicaid recipients in Cook County, IL.
