Big Path Capital’s 2022 MO 100 Ranking Spotlights the Top 100 Impact CEOs

Award Honors Executives Generating the Greatest Momentum Toward Positive Impact on Their Communities and the World

NEW YORK--()--Big Path Capital (“Big Path”), impact investing’s investment bank, is proud to announce the winners of this year’s MO 100 Top Impact CEO Ranking, the first list to honor the 100 most impactful leaders sparking positive environmental and social change through the fast-growing private companies they run. View the full 2022 MO 100 ranking, presented in partnership with BackBay Communications, here.

Unlike other lists that rank impact-minded companies, the MO 100 shines a spotlight on momentum-fueled executives who are leveraging the engine of capitalism to create shared prosperity. These agents of change champion a new vision for the economic system, demonstrating that every transaction represents an opportunity to create positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

As a group, the CEOs listed on the MO 100 represent the most consequential leaders in the most dynamic segment of the economy. Big Path calculates each executive’s “Force for Good” score for the ranking based on a formula accounting for the company’s scale via its total revenue, its growth via revenue growth rates, and its positive impact on people and planet via the B Impact Score, a standard developed by B Lab to assess a company’s true impact.

Leading the 2022 MO 100 Ranking in the number one spot is Stuart Landesberg, CEO of sustainable home and personal care products marketplace, Grove Collaborative. Following in second place is David Simnick, CEO of buy-one, give-one hair and body products company, Soapbox. Steve McDougal, CEO of the pioneering climate solutions firm 3Degrees, lands in this year’s third spot.

The 2022 MO 100 leaders demonstrate exactly the type of impact-focused leadership our world needs right now,” said Michael Whelchel, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Big Path, which connects purpose-driven companies and fund managers with mission-aligned investors. “Under their visionary guidance, the companies they lead are producing impressive financial returns, while also generating positive environmental and social impacts. We hope this ranking inspires more leaders to embrace the notion that purpose and profit are complementary.”

The 2022 MO 100 Ranking illustrates the changing face of the impact economy. This year’s ranking is composed of the most diverse set of winners ever; more than four out of every ten CEOs listed are either female and/or a person of color.

These CEOs highlight the new ideal of leadership in modern capitalism,” said Shawn Lesser, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Big Path. “The most important values of our generation, such as sustainability, social justice, and racial equity, will not arise on their own. These values must be planted and nurtured by individuals, exactly as these CEOs are doing. Transformation takes root at the individual level.”

The MO 100 Awards Gala will be hosted on April 19th during the MO 2022 Summit, which takes place from April 19 – 20, 2022 in Portland, Oregon. The Summit will focus on regeneration and innovating new rules for a new, more sustainable future. It will convene nearly 150 positive impact CEOs and will include both panels and deep networking.
