New Capabilities Pave the Way for Novel Colostrum and Probiotic Combination Products

PanTheryx’s new formulation capability provides manufacturers with the ability to confidently create combination products with colostrum and highly efficacious probiotics, such as Bifidobacterium animalis BB-12®, Lactobacillus rhamnosus LGG®‡, Lactobacillus plantarum HEAL9, Lactobacillus paracasei 8700:2 and B subtilis DE111® strains.

Colostrum and Probiotics

There are several reasons why cow colostrum and probiotics create a gut-healthy combo. The immunoglobulins, specifically IgG, in colostrum can regulate the microbiome and strengthen gut lining integrity to create better probiotic colonization. In addition, cow colostrum’s lactoferrin can prevent the growth of bacteria, but not probiotics, promoting better colonization of the probiotics. Research has shown that colostrum’s oligosaccharides feed bifidobacteria, which are important early colonizers of the microbiome.
