BrightSpring Health Services Honors 2022 DSP of the Year Award Recipients

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BrightSpring Health Services is proud to announce that nine of its Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) have received 2022 DSP of the Year Awards from the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR). Each year, ANCOR honors a DSP from each state who has gone above and beyond to ensure the safety, well-being and inclusion in the community of the people they support. DSPs serve a critical role in communities nationwide, providing compassionate, quality, and around-the-clock care to individuals with disabilities.

This year’s recipients include the following BrightSpring DSPs:

“Direct Support Professionals are essential and, in my opinion, the most unsung caregivers in our health care system. They truly do the most with high-need and often medically-complex clients to directly keep them more safe in their homes – by addressing key activities of daily living and social determinants of health – and out of emergent, hospital and institutional settings. Our DSPs allow those living with disabilities to live a much better life in their community, and this recognition is extremely well-deserved,” said BrightSpring CEO and President Jon Rousseau. “Our team members recognized exemplify the meaning of quality care, and we are thankful to have them with our organization. They make it possible for more people to live their best life.”

The nine BrightSpring DSP honorees were selected out of hundreds of nominees and hundreds of thousands of such caregivers in the country. Nominees are evaluated by ANCOR based on their person-centered nature, leadership in thought and action, relationships built, and innovation in care and service delivery. From throwing BBQs and birthday parties, to ensuring medications are followed, to building life skills, or to driving clients to cancer treatment, this year’s DSP of the Year Award recipients have stepped up in big ways to support the individuals in their care, day in and day out.

Award recipients will be recognized at the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference this month.
