LEXINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mangrove Management Partners, the affiliated management company of the The Vascular Care Group (TVCG) and other vascular practices today announced it has named Christopher J. Kwolek, MD, MBA, FACS as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Kwolek is an award-winning physician whose expertise in both inpatient and outpatient care settings will help to guide TVCG as its growing network of centers continues to expand access to state-of-the-art vascular care and improve the patient experience.
“Our work at The Vascular Care Group has shown we can improve the patient experience and make cutting-edge vascular care more accessible,” said Dr. Kwolek. “Healthcare is decentralizing from a model that once revolved around large health systems to one that finds nimble ways to deliver care more equitably in the communities where patients live. TVCG has established a network of care centers that are part of that decentralized model, and I look forward to expanding my work as CMO.”
Boston Magazine named Dr. Kwolek one of Boston’s “Top Doctors,” and Castle Connolly Medical named him one of “America’s Top Doctors.” He has more than 30 years of surgical experience and practiced in Boston for over 20 years, where he served as Associate Professor of Surgery, Harvard Medical School, and as Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program Director, Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Kwolek is a pioneer in the treatment of aneurysm disease, carotid artery disease, and peripheral vascular disease. He has been internationally recognized as a leader in the development of new techniques and devices and has served as the principal investigator for over 30 clinical trials evaluating minimally invasive vascular surgical techniques. He helped to establish the first integrated vascular residency program at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital and served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery and Chair of Surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr. Kwolek continues to serve as an invited national and international speaker and a member of multiple advisory boards.
“By teaming with highly skilled and innovative physicians, such as Dr. Kwolek, we continue to expand our capabilities to deliver better patient outcomes and experience at a lower cost,” said Mark Rowe, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mangrove Management Partners. “Dr. Kwolek’s clinical expertise will play an influential role in our mission to continue to optimize the delivery of vascular care in collaboration with large health systems and our dedicated physicians.”
TVCG centers its treatment model around optimizing the patient experience, providing advanced vascular interventions outside of the traditional hospital setting, and reducing costs for patients and payers. With nine locations in Massachusetts, TVCG is bringing lifesaving vascular care to local communities and making state-of-the-art treatment more accessible.
