BELLEVILLE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Five experts from Illinois American Water will present next week during the Illinois Section of American Water Works Association’s (ISAWWA) WATERCON 2022 conference. ISAWWA’s WATERCON is Illinois’ Total Water Conference, bringing together utilities and industry suppliers, consultants, manufacturers and regulators to share information through exhibits, education and networking events.
The five Illinois American Water team members presenting at ISAWWA’s WATERCON include:
- Padma Paan, PE, Engineering Manager, Asset and Capital Planning for Illinois and Iowa American Water, will present information on Water Main Prioritization Model. Water main replacement projects are an integral part of maintaining and proactively improving a water distribution system. The presentation will provide details of Illinois American Water’s approach on developing an automated model in GIS based on hydraulic modeling data.
- Melissa Litteken, Sr. EAM Project Manager, and Charles Schaefer, Sr. GIS Analyst, will present about Developing a Service Line Inventory. They will focus on alternative ways to determine size and material on company-owned and customer-owned service lines. They will explain the process of using historical data and GIS mapping data.
- Megan Taylor, Senior Engineer Technician, and Brent O’Neill, Director of Engineering for Illinois and Iowa American Water, will present on Change in Sources – Corrosion Control Studies. The presentation will highlight source change studies for monitoring the effects of diverse water quality parameters on a system’s plumbing utilizing Flow Through (pipe loop) and batch testing methodologies. They will provide an overview of an 18-month long water study and its successful completion.
Illinois American Water’s Champaign County water quality team will also participate in the event through the “Best Tasting Water” competition. The team recently won the Regional Taste Test competition, garnering them an entry into the State contest.
ISAWWA’s WATERCON 2022 will be held March 21-24, 2022, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield, Ill. The ISAWWA provides resources for the advocacy of safe and sustainable water through enriching membership, mentoring and increasing public awareness.
