DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the largest and most innovative real estate and construction enterprises in the country, has hired Bradley Brown as its new President of Texas. Mr. Brown will be responsible for leading Suffolk operations in Texas and the Central Southwest, supporting our mission and vision, enhancing functional and operational processes and infrastructure, and driving future growth in the region.
“Texas has emerged from the pandemic as one of the country’s strongest markets for development and construction, and we are expanding our presence in the region as a result of our growing portfolio of landmark projects,” said John Fish, Chairman and CEO of Suffolk. “Brad’s in-depth knowledge of construction, broad business acumen and proven leadership qualities make him an ideal leader for our Texas operation at this critical time for the company. We are thrilled to have a leader of his caliber join our Suffolk team.”
Mr. Brown has more than 24 years of industry experience. Prior to his new role at Suffolk, he held various leadership positions at Austin Commercial, one of the largest construction companies in the country. He served as President of Austin Commercial and oversaw national operations of the Austin Industries Construction vertical. He held leadership roles within other business disciplines at the company, including human resources and marketing. Mr. Brown also spent two years as CEO of TEXO, the construction association representing commercial contractors in North and East Texas.
With the addition of Mr. Brown to the Suffolk Texas team, Suffolk executive Mark Penny will shift his role from Dallas General Manager to Chief Operating Officer of Dallas, and former Suffolk Dallas Chief Operating Officer Mark Reed will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer of National Gaming. Mr. Penny and Mr. Reed played integral roles in the launching and growth of Suffolk’s presence in Texas and will work closely with Mr. Brown on strengthening the brand in the region and beyond.
Suffolk’s hiring of Mr. Brown demonstrates the firm’s strong momentum in expanding its presence and gaining market share in Texas. Suffolk Texas is responsible for highly-visible building construction projects including The Galbraith at 2400 Bryan Street, Texas Central and the luxury condo development at Katy Trail, among other notable projects. Suffolk was also recently selected to manage construction of the DFW Terminal C Modernization project.
