PARSIPPANY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Extremity Medical, a global medical device company focused on the development of innovative implants and instruments for upper and lower extremities, today announced Steven L. Haddad, MD has joined Extremity Medical as Chief Clinical Officer. In his new role Dr. Haddad will oversee the development of the product/technology portfolio as well as new medical education courses and clinical studies.
Dr. Haddad brings over 25 years of clinical, academic and industry experience. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in ankle replacement surgery, complex ankle reconstruction, foot and ankle deformity correction, and ankle arthritis management. He is also an educator and researcher that has participated in numerous clinical and basic science research studies.
Dr. Haddad is the current CME Chair for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons; past President of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and serves on the Orthopaedic Learning Center Board of Directors. He has developed numerous courses for both the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has edited or co-edited 8 books and journals and authored or co-authored more than 50 journal articles and book chapters. He has given hundreds of scholarly presentations worldwide, including in Australia, South America, South Africa and throughout North America and Europe.
Dr. Haddad received a bachelor’s degree in Honors Biology from the University of Michigan in 1985 and a Doctorate in Medicine from Johns Hopkins University in 1989. Dr. Haddad completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Georgetown University and a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.
He has served as faculty at both Northwestern University Medical School and University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and received numerous awards and academic honors including the Roger A. Mann Award from AOFAS and the James K. Stack Resident Teaching Award from Northwestern.
