Health-Tech Company Tenzr Health Announces The Addition of Alertive Healthcare Founder Nirav H. Shah To Its Advisory Team

With deep industry insights, Dr. Nirav H. Shah will provide expertise and support following recent acquisition of Alertive Healthcare by Carbon Health

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--()--Canadian health-tech company Tenzr Health today announces the addition of Alertive Healthcare founder Nirav H. Shah to its advisory team. Tenzr Health uses intelligent wearable sensors, gamification, and healthcare expertise to provide patients with unmatched motivation, guidance, and certainty in their musculoskeletal recovery journey.

Seattle-based Alertive Healthcare pioneered the use of digital health sensors to empower providers to monitor patients’ cardiac health using the reimbursable Remote Physiologic Monitoring (RPM). Alertive was acquired in October 2021 by Carbon Health, furthering the primary care provider’s push into tech-driven, out-of-office disease management. Together, Alertive Healthcare and Carbon Health are working as a team to build a health platform that takes care of all patient needs—from urgent care visits to managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, strokes, heart attacks, and kidney disease.

“As we prepare to introduce our Tenzr Health Digital Therapy Kit into the U.S. market, we will be doing so with the invaluable advice and support of the Alertive Healthcare team under the auspices of Carbon Health,” said Lukas-Karim Merhi, Co-Founder & CEO of Tenzr Health. “Leveraging the experience and considerable expertise of the Alertive team will help enable us to execute on both near and long-term objectives, such as rolling out the remote therapeutic monitoring aspect of our product offering.”

General Manager, Alertive Remote Patient Monitoring at Carbon Health Nirav H. Shah, MD, is an experienced neurohospitalist and has served as the stroke director of Swedish Neuroscience in Seattle, the largest stroke program in the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Shah was inspired to create Alertive while completing his fellowship in vascular neurology at the University of California, San Francisco.

“Tenzr’s unique capabilities of gamifying rehabilitation exercises and quantifying improvements in functional outcomes allow providers to monitor patients and provide high-quality care, while also helping motivate and engage patients in their recovery,” Dr. Shah said. “Tenzr’s approach represents the future of musculoskeletal care, and they are on the leading edge in this area, with published scientific studies validating the Tenzr program. I look forward to bringing my expertise in remote physiologic monitoring and scaling digital healthcare platforms to the table in order to support what Tenzr is already doing so well.”

The clinical utility of Tenzr Health’s technology (tracking rehab compliance and recovery status) has been independently validated and published in a study in the journal Neurorehablitation and Neural Repair.

Having successfully launched in Canada, Tenzr Health aims to build on its momentum and has its sights set on entering the medical-device market in the United States—a move eagerly anticipated by clinics keen on making the Tenzr experience available to their clients.
