Mosaic Launches Pre-development Services Offering

Build-to-rent homebuilders and developers now have access to an experienced team of pre-development experts

PHOENIX--()--Mosaic, a construction technology platform for the residential development industry, today announced the launch of their pre-development services offering, a comprehensive range of supporting services for build-to-rent (BTR) homebuilders and developers looking to save time and resources on the pre-development phase.

The new offering broadens Mosaic’s existing construction services for both for-sale and BTR developers. With the additional resources, builders, developers, and investors looking to build BTR communities get access to a highly skilled team of forward planners and construction experts who manage the critical pre-development workflow. Mosaic’s services include:

  • Site selection analysis and reporting;
  • Conceptual design and land planning;
  • Pre-development project management;
  • Initial construction budgeting / scheduling;
  • Constructability analysis / value engineering; and
  • Final construction budgeting / scheduling and trade subcontracting

“We’re very excited to officially launch another solution for the residential development industry, particularly a product offering that supports the fast-growing build-to-rent space,” said Ron Gonski, VP of Growth at Mosaic. “Build-to-rent represents an elegant solution to the national single-family housing crisis and provides a way to bring more (and much-needed) units to market, faster. Our pre-development services leverage the rare expertise of our experienced, in-house BTR team and alleviate the stress of the complex tasks that are required to bring these communities to life. These additional services enable our partners to increase their capacity and deliver higher quality communities.”

Mosaic’s pre-development offering is a significant value-add to the company’s core tech-enabled general contracting services, allowing their team to deliver value throughout the entire construction process, from design through construction and into warranty. Additionally, residential developers can expect to partner with one of the most experienced build-to-rent teams in the country, which has collectively managed development of more than 14,000 build-to-rent units in over 50 communities nationally.

“We’ve been looking for a partner with significant build-to-rent expertise, a full range of pre-development and construction services, and a highly-skilled team,” said Ed Gorman, President of MODUS Development. “With Mosaic, we’re getting all of that plus the transparency and predictability of working with a tech-enabled team. We’re excited to kick off our partnership with Mosaic in the Southwest and look forward to working on more projects with them in the future.”

Mosaic recently closed on their Series B funding, backed by venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Peak State Ventures, Building Ventures, Founders Fund, Greylock Partners, Innovation Endeavors, Thrive Capital, and 8VC. They also recently expanded their Arizona operations from Prescott and Flagstaff into Phoenix and Tucson. Mosaic plans to launch in Denver, Dallas, the Inland Empire, and additional markets later this year.

About Mosaic

Mosaic builds technology solutions to make residential construction more scalable. The company operates as a digital general contractor to provide construction and related services to homebuilders and residential developers, allowing them to offload their construction processes and related needs to Mosaic’s integrated platform and team. Mosaic’s platform standardizes the construction process, and not the homes, allowing them to deliver places people love and create better communities.
