LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The board of directors of Global Critical Logistics (“GCL”), a leading provider of mission-critical freight forwarding and global logistics providers to specialty sectors, announced today that logistics industry veteran Andrew Clarke, has been named Chairman. Mr. Clarke joined GCL’s board in 2018.
GCL is comprised of Rock-it Global, a leading provider of critical international freight forwarding solutions to the live entertainment and music touring sports and broadcasting industries, Dietl International and Dynamic, which service the fine arts and film & TV sectors, respectively. GCL operates in 13 countries and maintains trusted relationships with over 200 international partners. GCL is a portfolio company of ATL Partners, a private equity firm focused on the aerospace, transportation and logistics sectors.
Paul Martins, CEO of GCL, said, “I am delighted to have Andy deepen his role at GCL as Chairman as the company enters a renewed period of growth. I have known and worked alongside Andy for over 17 years and know first-hand the value and support he will provide our management team. His wealth of logistics and finance experience and contacts will be incredibly helpful as we continue our plan to grow organically and via acquisitions.”
Mr. Clarke added, “It is an honor to become Chairman of GCL to turbocharge growth across the many verticals where it excels as a provider of superior, ‘white-glove’ service. While GCL started many years ago as Rock-It Cargo in the music touring business, it has grown to become equally dominant in many other verticals such as fine arts, film & TV, sports and others. I look forward to supporting Paul and GCL’s talented team as we further broaden the company’s service offerings to new zero-tolerance for failure industries.”
Mr. Clarke has over 24 years of industry experience and a proven track record of building businesses at some of the most respected logistics companies. From 2015 to 2019, he served as the CFO of C.H. Robinson, Inc., (NASDAQ: CHRW), one of the world’s largest logistics platforms. From 2007 to 2013, Mr. Clarke was the CEO of Panther Expedited Services, Inc, a premium logistics provider focused on the automotive, life sciences, governmental and manufacturing sectors. From 2001 to 2006, he served in a variety of executive roles, including as Senior Vice President and CFO at Forward Air Corporation. He is currently Chairman at Arrive Logistics, another ATL Partners portfolio company, Direct ChassisLink Inc., and Element Fleet Management, and previously served as a director at public companies including Forward Air Corporation, Pacer International Inc., Blount International Inc, and Big Lots, Inc.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BSBA from Washington University.
