BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bain Capital Credit, L.P., a leading global credit specialist, today announced that the firm’s Private Credit Group invested $2.7 billion to support the growth of middle market and private equity-backed companies in 2021.
Bain Capital Credit’s Private Credit Group invested in more than 100 businesses across 32 industries in 2021, supporting the refinancing, leveraged buyout and add-on acquisition activity of both new and existing portfolio companies. With a track record of investing in middle market private debt dating back to 1998, the Private Credit Group has invested approximately $18 billion across over 400 portfolio companies since inception.
Additional 2021 highlights include:
- Invested $2.7 billion across more than 100 distinct portfolio companies, including to 38 new platforms
- Served as lead lender on approximately 70% of new commitments
