MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NowRx, a tech-powered pharmacy that provides same-day prescription delivery and telehealth services, today announced that Mark Marlow has joined the company as its chief financial officer. A seasoned executive with more than 20 years successfully building MedTech companies from start-up to initial public offering (IPO), Marlow joins NowRx during a period of significant momentum and growth where he will be responsible for scaling the company’s pharmacy and telehealth operations nationwide.
NowRx was founded in 2016 to rebuild the retail pharmacy experience, a market estimated at $480B+. Last year, the company surpassed $26M in revenue on an annualized basis for the first time in company history and launched its new telehealth product, which grew over 1,200% from Q1 to Q4. In 2022, the company announced three new locations in Denver, Seattle, and Las Vegas with plans for 10 more before the end of the year.
“Mark’s stellar track record working with fast-growing healthcare companies and taking them public makes him the perfect addition to the NowRx team,” said NowRx CEO Cary Breese. “He has the knowledge and experience to help us rapidly scale our operations to meet the high demand for our services.”
Marlow earlier served as Managing Partner of Omphalos Venture Partners, LLC, a Minneapolis-based venture capital fund specializing in investments in healthcare technology. Prior to Omphalos, Mark served as CFO and co-founder of Virtual Radiologic Corp (VRAD), where he helped the company grow from just an idea to $100M in annual revenue, and led a successful initial public offering on NASDAQ. vRad provides telemedicine services to more than 900 hospitals and emergency rooms in all 50 states. Before vRad, Marlow held the position of Executive Vice President of Finance at WAM!NET, a provider of online health imaging services. While at WAM!NET Marlow helped grow the company from a startup to over 350 employees, providing digital data services to more than 700 customers through 1,100 locations in 50 states.
According to Marlow, there are several reasons why he was drawn to NowRx. “The company is growing quickly, expanding both its geographic reach and the services it offers,” said Mark Marlow. “And it has been able to do that while still earning five-star reviews from customers. NowRx is out in front of the competition with its focus on improving the collaboration between three parties: physician, pharmacist and patient. Legacy players just don’t have the business model or technology to catch up. I’m excited to join the team and help accelerate its progress.”
