BROOKLYN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HITN TV today announced the nationwide premiere of the third season of its popular wildlife show “Mundo Salvaje con Ron Magill.” The highly anticipated 10-episode series is set to debut on Jan. 31 at 9 p.m. EST / PST.
Presented by conservationist and five-time Emmy award winner Ron Magill, “Mundo Salvaje” will give viewers a front-row seat to the astounding biodiversity and amazing creatures of Latin America. This season focuses on different ecosystems within the region, from the Patagonia and the Orinoco River plains to the Amazon rainforest and the Andes Mountains, featuring fascinating stories about animal species and habitats from the world’s most biodiverse continent.
“Our goal is to educate and inspire Hispanic families as they learn more about the beauty and diversity of the world around them,” Ron Magill said. “We’re particularly excited about this season because it highlights the natural wonders of the countries many of our viewers and their families call home. It’s a tremendous opportunity to create visibility and educate viewers on how unique these animals are and how important it is to protect them and their habitats.”
Magill is an avid wildlife photographer and conservationist who serves as the director of communications at Zoo Miami. He appeared on the iconic Spanish-language variety program, “Sabado Gigante,” for over 25 years and is a regular guest on national television shows such as “Good Morning America” and the “Today” show. This season marks his third-year hosting “Mundo Salvaje” and continuing to raise the program’s visibility and acclaim.
“Our audience has gravitated to HITN’s wildlife programming and has made “Mundo Salvaje con Ron Magill” one of the network’s most beloved and frequently watched programs,” said Erika Vogt-Lowell, Director of Programming and Acquisitions at HITN. “Ron, with his enthusiasm and engaging style, is a brilliant ambassador for the animal kingdom, generating interest and curiosity in his audience and making conservation a pertinent and relatable household topic.”
During this season of “Mundo Salvaje,” Magill presents the show from world-renowned Yellowstone National Park while highlighting some of Latin America’s most unique habitats and interesting native animal species.
“After traveling to South Africa for our previous season, it was time to come back to the Americas, and what better way to kick off this new season than from the world's first national park,” said Laura Masnatta, executive producer at HITN. “Filming at Yellowstone National Park, a bastion of biodiversity conservation, allowed us to capture the beauty of wildlife in its fullest expression as Ron takes viewers on a tour of some of Latin America's most captivating places.”
“Mundo Salvaje con Ron Magill” will air every Monday at 9 p.m. EST / PST, starting Jan. 31 as part of HITN’s Tu Planeta programming block. The two-hour premiere will feature a “making of” episode along with this season’s first stops at Pantanal, the world’s largest tropical wetland, and Cerrado, the largest savanna region in South America.
In an effort to make the “Mundo Salvaje con Ron Magill” premiere accessible to people with sensory disabilities, HITN has partnered with the DICAPTA foundation to provide descriptive audio through their Access4All technology.
Ahead of season three’s debut, HITN will present a “Mundo Salvaje con Ron Magill” full-day marathon on Sunday, Jan. 30, featuring seasons one and two. There will also be a sneak preview of season three on that same day at 9 p.m. EST / PST.
