Saint-Gobain Ships First Deliveries of STONEfaçade Stone Veneer Panels from its New Plant in Quakertown, Pennsylvania

Company seeks to add 25 new full-time positions in Quakertown as a result of increased customer demand

MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC, has shipped its first STONEfaçade stone veneer panels from its newest plant in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, to customers in New England and the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.

STONEfaçade is an innovative stone veneer system, made with concrete, that can be quickly and easily installed by any siding contractor without any special equipment or masonry skills. The product is manufactured at a state-of-the-art facility in Quakertown that opened last year and significantly increased the company’s capacity of STONEfaçade.

Compared to traditional stone, STONEfaçade requires less time and fewer materials for wall preparation and installation. STONEfaçade uses screw-in panels, is entirely mortar-free, and comes equipped with an integrated rainscreen to manage moisture and create a higher performing wall system. Additionally, STONEfaçade features one-piece alternating corners for a realistic appearance.

“We’re humbled by our customers’ strong response to our new STONEfaçade products, and grateful for the opportunity to create additional exciting careers at our plant in Quakertown,” said Joe Bondi, Vice President and General Manager of CertainTeed Sidings Product Group. “STONEfaçade is a disruptive, game-changing product for residential construction, and our team is working hard to make sure siding contractors can capitalize on this innovation and ride the wave of increased demand for stone cladding.”

The STONEfaçade stone veneer system comes in several different color palettes that can be coordinated with a variety of CertainTeed siding and roofing colors.

In response to robust customer demand for STONEfaçade, CertainTeed aims to hire 25 new full-time employees in Quakertown by the summer of 2022. Open roles include technical operators, material handlers, shift supervisors and shift leaders. A complete list of openings at Quakertown can be found at Saint-Gobain North America’s careers website.
