PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gopuff, the go-to platform for immediate delivery of consumers’ everyday needs, today, on Giving Tuesday, announced that it will donate $40,000 in Gopuff credits to Covenant House programs across the U.S., providing essential items to young people facing homelessness. The funds will be equally distributed to eight Covenant House locations. Additionally, Gopuff will leverage its wide range of product inventory to donate personal care essentials to Covenant House residents, including toiletries, hygiene products and more.
“It is only through partnerships like this with Gopuff that we are able to help our amazing, resilient young people at Covenant House pursue the great promise of their lives,” said Kevin Ryan, CEO and President of Covenant House. “As winter approaches our needs will only increase, and we are so grateful for this support.”
Covenant House is the largest primarily privately-funded charity in the Americas helping homeless and trafficked youth. Every night, Covenant House provides safe shelter for over 2,000 young people. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Covenant House not only kept the doors open 24/7 but also opened eight new programs and added 138 new beds to meet the increasing needs for their services. The donation of the Gopuff credits will enable Covenant House locations in cities across the U.S. - including Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City and Orlando - to purchase food and essentials for young people ages 16 to 21. The personal care items will provide Covenant House residents basic essentials and help give them a solid foundation as they work toward self-sufficiency.
“Gopuff is committed to using our services to make a positive impact in our local communities,” said Yakir Gola, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Gopuff. “That’s why we’re especially proud to stand with Covenant House and hope to make life a little easier for those in need, especially through the holidays.”
“Covenant House is dedicated to the important mission of helping unhoused and at-risk youth across the U.S.,” added Rafael Ilishayev, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Gopuff. “Gopuff’s reason for being is meeting people’s everyday needs, and we’re grateful to be able to leverage our platform to advance Covenant House’s crucial social mission.”
Gopuff is committed to supporting the communities it serves. This donation to Covenant House follows a $100,000 donation made this Thanksgiving to Feeding America®, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States.
