NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HCA Florida Healthcare announced that 11 of its more than 400 affiliated sites of care across Florida will adopt the new HCA Florida Healthcare brand today, signaling their connection to the state’s leading collaborative care network. The first facilities to adopt the brand in Florida include four existing hospitals, six freestanding emergency rooms (ERs) and a new, state-of-the-art hospital.

Now, we will also be united under the HCA Florida Healthcare brand and will continue to work together to deliver top-quality care for patients across the Sunshine State,” said Chuck Hall, national group president at HCA Healthcare.
These facilities are the first of more than 400 affiliated sites of care across the state to begin using the HCA Florida Healthcare brand. By spring 2022, the remaining sites of care in Florida, including hospitals, freestanding ERs and physician practices, will officially adopt the statewide brand, uniting more than 11,000 medical staff physicians and more than 77,000 colleagues.
A New State-of-the-Art Facility
The new HCA Florida University Hospital is located adjacent to the campus of Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Fla., and will open today. The state-of-the-art facility represents a $360 million investment in delivering the latest advances in personalized care to communities in South Florida.

The 330,000-square-foot, multi-specialty hospital is equipped with the latest technology and offers comprehensive healthcare services, including 24/7 emergency care, maternity services with a Level III neonatal intensive care unit and a full range of robotic and minimally invasive surgical services. With more than 600 expert physicians on staff, HCA Florida University Hospital has 165 beds and can expand to 435 beds based on community needs.
Continued Expansion and Excellence in Tampa
Memorial Hospital of Tampa and its Tampa Community Hospital campus will also adopt the new HCA Florida Healthcare brand today. The new branding reflects the Tampa sites’ connection to HCA Florida Healthcare. Facility name changes effective today include:
- Memorial Hospital of Tampa is now HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital
- Tampa Community Hospital is now HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital, a part of HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital

HCA Florida South Tampa is in the heart of South Tampa, providing a comprehensive array of services, including some of the most advanced robotic and minimally invasive surgical programs in the area.
The HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital campus is home to one of the largest and most comprehensive adult mental health programs in Hillsborough County, having recently completed a $19.5 million expansion. This includes a full-service ER with an eight-bed, dedicated mental health ER, adult inpatient mental health, geriatric mental health and inpatient hospital-based substance abuse treatment. The $50 million Hospital for Endocrine Surgery, a part of HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital, is also under construction at this site. When completed later this year, it will provide highly specialized treatments and services for patients with endocrine conditions of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.
HCA Florida Healthcare is also anticipating the completion of another construction project, a new freestanding ER currently under construction in West Florida and scheduled to open in early 2022. HCA Florida Central Tampa Emergency will be a part of HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital.
New Name, Same Family in Brandon
Brandon Regional Hospital and its five freestanding ERs will also adopt the new
HCA Florida Healthcare brand and logo today. New signage at these facilities will be introduced in the coming weeks and include:
- Brandon Regional Hospital is now HCA Florida Brandon Hospital
- ER 24/7 in Lakeland, a department of Brandon Regional Hospital, is now HCA Florida Lakeland Emergency, a part of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital
- ER 24/7 in Plant City, a department of Brandon Regional Hospital, is now HCA Florida Plant City Emergency, a part of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital
- ER 24/7 in Riverview, a department of Brandon Regional Hospital, is now HCA Florida Riverview Emergency, a part of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital
- ER 24/7 in Temple Terrace, a department of Brandon Regional Hospital, is now HCA Florida University Emergency, a part of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital
- ER 24/7 in Wesley Chapel, a department of Brandon Regional Hospital, is now HCA Florida New Tampa Emergency, a part of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital

New Names to Reflect the Communities Served in East Florida
Today, the Tamarac, Fla., facility previously known as University Hospital and Medical Center, has become HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital. This facility sits close to the Woodmont Natural Area, one of the largest remaining natural habitats in Broward County. The hospital’s new name better reflects its geography and affirms that its healthcare offerings are specially curated to meet the needs of the local community.
Additionally, the Plantation General Hospital facility in Plantation, Fla., has become HCA Florida Plantation Emergency, a part of Westside Regional Medical Center, as it transitions to an adult freestanding ER operating under the direction of HCA Healthcare sister facility Westside Regional Medical Center.
