MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lakeview Community Partners Limited (LCPL), the group developing Lakeview Village, has received Draft Plan Approval (DPA), Official Plan Amendment approval (OPA) and Zoning By-law endorsement (ZBL). This approval was granted at a publicly held Planning & Development Committee meeting on November 8, and then ratified on Wednesday, November 10 in Council Chambers at the City of Mississauga.
LCPL can now move forward with the creation of a community that transforms what was once a powerplant into an incredible mixed use, sustainable waterfront village. This inter-connected, environmentally conscious 15-minute community will create new housing supply and jobs while rehabilitating the local ecosystem and providing restored access and activity to the Mississauga waterfront for the first time in decades, along with a variety of new public parks and trails.
“The DPA, OPA approval and ZBL endorsement is a landmark achievement for Lakeview Village and everyone that has worked tirelessly to bring this development to the Mississauga waterfront. We can’t thank the City of Mississauga council members enough for confirming the community’s support of, and trust in, this project,” said Brian Sutherland, Vice-President of Development, Argo Development Corporation and development lead for Lakeview Village. “We began this process in 2018 working closely with the community on a vision for what this transformation could bring to Mississauga’s waterfront and this approval allows us to begin an exciting new phase.”
