BURLINGTON, Mass.--()--The global leader in microlearning technology Qstream today announced Dan Whelan as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. With decades of experience leading high-growth technology companies, Whelan will usher Qstream toward market growth and leadership, targeting new markets and innovating the product to provide even greater value and positive business impact for customers.

Whelan joins Qstream after most recently serving as CEO of another leading SaaS company, Revenue Management Systems (RMS). RMS is the premier provider of revenue management software and services to the airline industry, where Dan helped transform the company into a high-growth technology business after its acquisition by private equity. In four years, Whelan more than doubled RMS’ revenue and customer base, and drove the company’s flagship product to become the leading revenue management solution used by more airlines than any other competitive solution on the market. Prior to RMS, Whelan was president and general manager at Data Fusion Technologies, a leading provider of analytics software and services to the legal industry, and SVP of worldwide services and support at Epicor Software Corporation. He began his career in consulting at Accenture and received his BA from the University of Washington.

“The workplace learning and development industry has never had a ‘moment’ like it does now, in an era where employees are working from virtually anywhere and employers are working hard to retain and hire the best talent,” said Whelan. “That’s why I’m excited to join Qstream, which enables organizations to provide better employee experiences through learning opportunities. I love leading businesses as they take their next step toward growth, guiding customers to achieve their goals, and helping teams build their careers. There is immense opportunity for Qstream to dominate the market, and it’s my goal to make that happen.”

Qstream’s microlearning platform delivers knowledge through scenario-based testing and spaced repetition during the flow of work so employees can choose when and where they want to learn. Compared to traditional learning models, Qstream increases engagement and knowledge retention, and improves how skills and behaviors are applied appropriately on the job. It also empowers business managers with powerful real-time analytics on employees’ skill levels so they understand where additional learning and coaching may be needed. Qstream is used by organizations across a variety of industries, including healthcare, life sciences, financial services, front-line workers, first responders and more.
