Gwinnett Clinic Expands Access to Primary Care and Orthopedics

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.--()--Gwinnett Clinic, Ltd., a market leader in primary and specialty care, is pleased to announce expanded access to primary care and orthopedics. The practice has recruited three new physicians to its multispecialty group and broken ground to triple the size of its current Snellville location to 10,000 square feet.

A hallmark of Gwinnett Clinic’s high-value model is easy access to specialist care. Dr. Mark Hazel, board-certified in orthopedic surgery, is a seasoned orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician. Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Hazel joins the practice from Gainesville. He will work with Dr. JJ Shah and Dr. Ned Armstrong at the Lawrenceville hub. Dr. Hazel will operate at Northside Gwinnett and Gwinnett Advanced Surgery Center.

Dr. Caitlin Suilmann, a board-certified family medicine physician and native Georgian, is returning home after training and practicing in Wisconsin. She recently worked as a hybrid inpatient-outpatient family medicine physician and will now transition to full-time ambulatory care. She has a special interest in preventive medicine. Dr. Jincy Thomas, a board-certified internal medicine physician, trained at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital (a Weill Cornell Medicine affiliate). Both physicians will see patients at multiple Gwinnett Clinic locations.

Drs. Hazel, Thomas, and Suilmann will join one of the metro area’s most comprehensive multispecialty practices. Gwinnett Clinic has served over 403,000 families – over 500,000 patients – since 1983 and continues to perform in the top quartile nationwide in cost and quality metrics. Gwinnett Clinic offers primary care and walk-in services at its Lawrenceville headquarters (475 Philip Blvd., Lawrenceville, GA 30046) and seventeen satellite clinics in and around Gwinnett County. Earlier this year, Gwinnett Clinic broke ground on a 10,000-square-foot expansion of its Snellville clinic (2764 Main St. W, Snellville, GA 30078), near downtown Snellville. “We look forward to offering enhanced primary care and specialty services to the Snellville community for decades to come, and we are grateful to our patients there for entrusting us with their care,” said Dr. Meena Shah, Medical Director.

The practice was founded in 1983 by local physicians and has been a trendsetter in the delivery of outpatient care. It was among the first practices in metro Atlanta to offer same-day and walk-in visits — allowing patients to avoid urgent care facilities and emergency rooms. Additionally, Gwinnett Clinic provides direct scheduling with in-house specialists, and onsite imaging, laboratory, physical therapy, and pharmacy services. Gwinnett Clinic patients avoid urgent care and emergency room costs and appreciate unsurpassed access to doctors they know and trust in a comprehensive care model.
